Psalms 37:6-11; Mark 5:21-43
I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.
(ESV – Gal. 2:20)
Can you describe Jesus’ characters according to your own opinion? Does Jesus have compassion? Does Jesus have abundant love to others? Does Jesus have patience? Does Jesus have commitment? Does Jesus have loyalty? Does Jesus have braveness to do the right things? Does Jesus have honesty? Does Jesus have sincerity? Of course your answer will be “yes” to all those questions.
There is a question to you, “Do you have the same characters as what Jesus has?” This question leads you to examine yourself. How are your characters now? Are they already almost like Jesus’? If Jesus is inside us, it should take effect instantly, where your life will be different and changed. The change should be fundamental. You should have characters that Jesus has.
Please, see yourself in the mirror. Ask yourself, “Am I like Jesus in terms of having Jesus’ characters?” Then, challenge yourself to try hard to learn and practice good characters in your life. Make Jesus your role model! Challenge yourself to have patience, honesty, compassion, commitment, braveness to say the truth and to do the right things only, loyalty and abundant love for one another. Still seeing yourself in the mirror, loudly say that I want to be like Jesus! Say it loudly and start to make it happens.
“Dear Jesus, I realize that it is important to have good characters in this life. Only by making you as my role model, I can have good characters. It means I must dare to be different from others. Please help me to reach it. Amen.”
