Psalms 23; Matthew 21:33-46
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.
(2 Cor. 5:17)
II Corinthians 5:15-21
The Bible says that when we accept Jesus Christ to be our Lord and Saviour, we are made new. The old has died and a new creation is born. One that has been blessed with His spirit and one that will live eternally singing praises to Him. With this new creation, comes a new understanding of purpose in our lives.
Before we had Jesus, we might be the most selfish, rude and impatient person in the world, but because we understand what Jesus did for us and how much God loves us, we are compelled to no longer be selfish, rude and impatient. Instead, we are moved to be more loving, more understanding, more gentle and patient with one another.
This is due to the fact that God is all those things to us. He loves us even when we rebel. He reaches out to us even when we turn our back on Him. And he continues to pursue us even if we’re running away from Him. So when we understand all that He has done for us, to save us, we are changed to do the same for others around us. This change happens to our heart as we spend more and more time getting to know Him and worshipping Him. As we understand the sacrifice He made for us, we understand that our lives are His and we should use it only to glorify Him, for He is worthy of our praises.
“Dear Lord, You have done so much for me. I am so grateful for everything and know that I can never pay you back. But I offer up my life to You and for Your cause. Use me to reach out to others just as You have reached out to me. Thank you Lord. In Your Name I pray, Amen!”
