The Bible in One Year:
Psalms 17:6-15; Matthew 12:43-50
Golden Verse
“For behold, I create new heavens and a new earth; And the former things will not be remembered or come to mind.”
(Isaiah 65:17)

God intends to create new heavens and a new earth, a place where we will be resurrected and taken to, when Jesus comes for the second time. It has always been part of His plan. So our current temporary home is just that, temporary. God has entrusted this planet into our hands and even though we won’t spend eternity here, we are still responsible of this place. But when the time comes, the old earth will be washed away and a new, better earth will take its place. It will be better because all that is wrong with this one will not exist in the new one. We can start off new again and be surrounded by His new creation.

So even though we’re still living in this planet, and have the new earth to look forward to, we still have to take good care of it. He created the earth and it was good.

“Dear Lord, thank you for entrusting us to take care of this place that You have created. Even though sometimes we fail to maintain it, we believe that You are with us and will help us to make the right choices. We look forward to the new earth, but we are also grateful for our current temporary residence. In Your Name I pray, Amen.”
