Psalms 2:10-12; Matthew 2
“And God blessed them. And God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth and subdue it and have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over every living thing that moves on the earth.”
When God first created the earth, He commanded man a whole list of responsibilities. Among them was to populate the earth, but also to take care of all of His creations, including all the animals and plants that are currently around us. Unfortunately, with the growing population, and continuous waste, we are doing the total opposite. There’s now pollution, landfills and so many things wrong with the place we live in.
We’ve been on this earth for 2000+ years now and it’ll be impossible to go back to our primitive ways just to save the planet. Buildings will be built, cars will be bought and used and trees will be cut down, but we can slow down the deterioration process of our planet by doing the small things like throwing our garbage in the garbage bin, or recycling waste that can be made into something else. Simple acts such as these, can help us live in a better environment because God intended for us to live on this earth for a while. What we do to take care of our planet, pleases Him for He made it for us to enjoy.
“Thank you for creating Earth and allowing us to live in it. We praise You for You make beautiful and wonderful things. Lord, I pray that we can sustain this planet and make it a better place not just for ourselves but for the future generations as well. Let us be reminded that this is our temporary residence and we should bring glory to You, who has made this place a wonderful place to live in. In Your name we pray. Amen.”
