“For to us a child is born, to us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder, and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace”.
John 13: 31-35
The best example of love shown by God is evident when we celebrate Christmas every year in December. It’s more than just the Christmas tree, the presents, Santa Claus, North Pole and even the days off from work or school. It’s about the birth of Jesus Christ!
The Scripture says “God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.” Which pretty much means, God sent Jesus because He loved us so much. That’s His only Son! Would you do that for other people? Sacrifice your only child, your very own blood for people who don’t even love you?! I don’t think so.
Let us then remember always, why we are here today. Why we need to show love to those around us. Why its such a big deal to introduce Christ to so many people who have not yet know Him. Because Jesus was sent for those people too.
“Dear Lord, thank you so much for loving us. Thank you for sending your one and only Son to die for us. That is the best gift we’ve received and may we never forget that. Lord, please touch my heart and the people around me to feel your presence, to know why we are here and to be appreciative of all the blessings you have given us. In your name I pray, Amen!”
