The Bible in One Year:
Hebrews 11:1-19
Golden Verse
But when you give a feast, invite the poor, the crippled, the lame, the blind, and you will be blessed, because they cannot repay you. For you will be repaid at the resurrection of the just.
(Luke. 14:13)

God’s people is all people. Sometimes we think, God only wants us to reach out to those people around us, people we know and associate ourselves with. When in fact, God wants us to reach everyone. So what does that look like?

It includes children who are poor and living on the streets begging for money, it includes the disabled people with missing limbs or disability, it includes people who are much older than ourselves and living under the poverty line. When you bless people who cannot repay you, God will bless you beyond your wildest imagination. As you are serving those who are not normally served or cannot serve themselves, you are actually serving God. So don’t look down on those people but bless them because through them You will also be blessed.

Jesus never says to the poor: ‘come find the church’, but he says to those of us in the church: ‘go into the world and find the poor, hungry, homeless, imprisoned. (Tony Campolo)
“Dear Lord, help me to love everyone in my community. Help me to show compassion to those who are different from me. Help me to share Your love because You have first loved us. Let Your name be glorified everywhere and by everyone. In Your Name I pray, Amen!”
