“And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.”
Rome 12:2 (KJV)
II Corinthians 3:9-12
Have you ever looked closer to ants? Yes, the small creatures which you can find marching at your wall, floor, under your bed or table, or at the branches of trees! Have you ever noticed why they looked so busy, carrying things such as crumbs, dirt, or even carrion of the dead cockroach? It is because they work hard to gather their food for a difficult season ahead (Proverb 30:25). Why did King Solomon suggest us to learn from them (Proverbs 6:6)?
This is a story about Mia, a teenager who always prays fervently and she is also an active church member who plays tambourine every Sunday. She believes that God will bless her so she studies only if there is going to be an examination. One day, she got angry because she did not get the best score. And she blamed God for that because she thought that she has studied and prayed, and yet she didn’t get what she believed she should. Can you see the difference between what Mia did and what the ants usually do?
We have to work hard consistently instead of only praying, serving at the church or even fasting. God wants us to use our capabilities and to do our duties well. So work hard like the ants!
“LORD God Almighty, I want to be success in everything, so help me to live the way you’ve guided me to. I believe you will give me strength as well as the wisdom to live my life well. Thank you, Amen.”
