The Bible in One Year:
Acts 13:26-52
Golden Verse
“Laziness brings on a deep sleep, and the idle person will go hungry.”
Proverbs 19:15 (NET)

Few years ago, television and other medias were filled with controversial songs sang by an old man called Mbah Surip. One of his top hits was “Bangun Tidur.”

We may still have memory of its simple lyric which says “Bangun tidur, tidur lagi. Bangun tidur, tidur lagi.” The song does not only tease us about our fondness of sleeping but also gives some critics for the lazy people. We can also find this critics in a book of the Bible written by a wise Israelite king, Solomon (Proverbs 18:9).

So it is obvious that this has been a habit for some people since the ancient times. But what is it that make people like to sleep too much? The only answer is laziness. They don’t want to seek some activity to fill their free times. To avoid this habit, keep your eyes open and see things around, there are too many things to do. We will miss many wonderful things God provided us to enjoy if we just sleep again and again.

Sleeping is like drugs, you might do it in a proper dose.
“Dear God, the Holder of time and eternity, thank you for reminding me to always be fruitful for Your glory. Forgive me for wasting so much time, now please help me to use it wisely. Amen.”
