The Bible in One Year:
John 8:28-59
Golden Verse
Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knoweth not what his lord doeth: but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard of my Father I have made known unto you.
(John 15:15 – KJV)

Friends are usually the place where you can pour your feeling out. You can tell them everything you want without any objection or feeling shame, simply because they are your friends! You may spend your time in classroom chatting with them, or talking about a girl or a boy you are interested in all night long by phone or even texting them whenever and wherever you are. And, amazingly, none of you got bored!

God, just as your friends, wants to tell everything to you because you are HIS friend! He will never get bored by being with you, talking to you or helping you anytime you need. And did you know that He sent His love-letter to you? That’s your Bible.

If you have a best friend, would you talk to her or him only once a week? Certainly, not. God also wants to speak to you regularly and often. He wants you to habitually read the Bible so He can communicate with you through His Spirit. The more frequent you read the Scripture and remember the verses, the more freely can He speak to you.

Though your friends can sometimes be out of reach when you need them the most, God has promised to be there for you. And He never break His promise. Now, knowing that God wants you to be His close friend, will you give Him your times?

Jesus! What a Friend for sinners! Jesus! Lover of my soul; Friends may fail me, foes assail me, He, my Savior, makes me whole. – Chris Rice
“Jesus Christ in Heaven, I’m so thankful because you have chosen me to be your friend. You are my best friend ever and please help me to realize that you are always with me. I love you, Jesus. Amen.”
