And whether one member suffer, all the members suffer with it; or one member be honoured, all the members rejoice with it
(I Cor. 12:26– KJV)
I Corinthians 12:21-26
In one of Alvin and Chipmunks series, you can hear a song with this frase, “we are family… we are family.” The stories in those serial are usually about the chipmunks family who lives happily together despite their differences.
As a body of Christ, the Apostle Paul asked the people in Corinthians to love each other because they are family and so do we as Christian community now. We are all different, each of us has his or her own way of thinking, and we have different abilities. Just like broom of split coconut midribs. We will be able to do more useful things when we are in unity.
Because we are family, let’s act as family. Family is a place where we can be ourselves. Even though we may do wrong, our family will keep us and accept us. Besides, we have to establish sisterhood and brotherhood relationships with others. Please be careful with your attitude and your words because they can easily hurt others; share each other’s sorrow and joy, as the apostle Paul said, “Rejoice with them that do rejoice, and weep with them that weep.”
“Dear Lord Jesus, please comfort all my families in Christ who are in sorrow and help me to be a blessing to them today. Also I pray for my community that we will reflect your Kingdom while we live in this world. In Jesus name, I pray. Amen. “
