And whether one member suffer, all the members suffer with it; or one member be honoured, all the members rejoice with it
(I Cor. 12:26 – KJV)
I Corinthians 12:21-26
I have read a story about a dog that went playing around a village. One day it happened to enter into a very special house called, “A house of thousands mirror.” This dog went in and looked very happy with its ears up, tail moved fast, and a smiling face. Suddenly the dog saw thousands of dogs, all with their ears up, tails moved fast and smiling faces.
Unfortunately, a glum dog entered the same house too and saw many gloomy and depressed dogs around it. The dog became angry to those ‘shadows or reflection’ of itself. The dog barked to its reflection and abruptly broke the mirror .
Friends, whatever happens to our ‘Christian family’ in the church or community, either bad or good, is sometimes reflection of what we did. If we want to have a happy Christian family, let’s do our best first. It will produce happiness. On the contrary, your unhappiness will contaminate others. Why? Because we are the body of Christ, we are complimentary to others and not in competition with them.
“Jesus, I realize that what I do will impact the happiness of the body of Christ. Therefore, please give me the ability to do my best for my community. In Jesus name, I pray. Amen”
