II Thessalonians 2
Also I heard the voice of the LORD saying, “Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?” And I said, “Here am I. Send me!”
There is a situation that maybe familiar to you: your teacher comes to your class and she starts looking around the room for someone to answer her questions. You slink down (hide) in your seat, trying to make yourself invisible–praying that she won’t pick you. Ever had an experience like that?
Unluckily, many of us sometimes do the same way when it comes to time to serve God. When we see someone needs something or when we find a chance to serve, we do everything we can to make ourselves invisible, we hope that God will send someone else to do the task or serving. We know, that’s a mistake.
Guys, right now, maybe God is searching for someone to bring the good news about forgiveness to one of your friend at school who is trying to seek forgiveness for himself. Or God may be searching for someone to invite your friends to collect clothes that can be distributed to the homeless people. Or He may be waiting for you to share his love by asking one of your church friend, who is alone and being ignored, to hang out together.
Will you be that person? Will you come forward like Isaiah did and say, “Here am I–send me”? Don’t let your heap of activities stop you. Don’t ever say that you have no experience to do that. People who seriously love God will give their time to serve Him by serving others. So what are you waiting for? It’s time to volunteer!
“Jesus, here am I, send me to your field. Give me your wisdom to always serve You wholeheartedly. Amen.”
