The Bible in One Year:
Acts 22
Golden Verse
But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the LORD.
( 2 Corinthians 3:18)

Time after time we saw that fashion and beauty have some pattern. They are not only for girls, but for boys as well. Look thoroughly, and we can see that we are following the Korean people in their fashion and lifestyle. For example, there are some kind of standard for girls to be considered pretty. A girl must have a pointy nose, wide eyes, straight hair, bright skin and last but not least, she must be skinny. Almost all girls in Korea are competing to be as perfect as they can. Not only by using cosmetic products, they also put their face and body under the knife.

Plastic surgery has become a new trend among Korean people, not only for young girls, but also for boys, house wives, even old men and women. They would like to have plastic surgery to improve their physical appearances.

Because of their high standards of perfection, a lot of boys and girls are suffering bad self-image. If they don’t have enough money to undergo such surgery, they feel themselves ugly and unattractive. And they would think that they have no chance to live their lives like the good looking ones.

As the children of God, we should have known the standard of life we have to follow. To experience a good and happy life, we can follow the example of Jesus’ life. Jesus has given a lot of examples for us to live a good and fruitful life. And Jesus’ standard is totally different from the world’s standard. Jesus is not so much care about our outward appearance than He is about our inward, our heart. Therefore, let’s raise our standards of life to comply with His standards and become better personalities inward and of course outward as well.

God’s choice may not look good, but has an awesome ending
“Dear Jesus, we thank you for creating us perfectly. Now please help us to change our old ways of thinking so we may become better persons as you have created us to be. In your name we pray. Amen.”
