TAKE ACTIONS NOW!

The Bible in One Year:
Matthew 9:1-17
Golden Verse
The heavens are yours; the earth also is yours; the world and all that is in it, you have founded them.
(Psalm 89:11)(ESV)

Last week we learned about the cause and effects of global warming. Today let’s take a look at the list below, some simple but practical things you can do to help in the global effort to save our planet by reducing greenhouse gas emissions.

You can use this table as a guideline to help you remember to apply these simple actions in your everyday life. Put a check in the right column.

1 Turn off electrical devices (lights, fans, tv, computers, etc.) when they are not in use
2 Unplug your phone charger when not in use
3 Donate your unwanted clothes
4 Use energy-saving light bulbs
5 Plant trees in your neighborhood
6 Turn off the faucet when you are brushing your teeth
7 Reduce paper use
8 Reuse your non-plastic shopping bag each time you buy things
9 Recycle newspapers, glass bottles, tin cans, and magazines
10 Check for leaks (toilets, faucets, pipes, etc.)
11 Use natural light, heat, and cooling
12 Ride your bike instead of taking a car
13 Use public transportation

These are just a few things you can do. By having a conservation awareness mind, you will find other ways to contribute to the effort of saving our planet. (Adapted from voice.yahoo.com, prlog.org, environment.about.com, www1.eere.energy.gov)

“There is hope if people will begin to awaken that spiritual part of them, that heartfelt knowledge that we are caretakers of this planet.” ~ Brooke Medicine Eagle
Prayer:
“Dear God, thank you for Your kindness. Renew our hearts and mind to better care for the environment, to start from simple things and make it a good habit as caretakers of the earth. With Jesus we can. Amen.”
