“But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.“
(Matthew 6:33) (NKJV)
I Corinthians 7:17-40;
God made us to be social beings, to want to have relationships with other people. He even gave us marriage, a bond to be made for one person and another to be lived out forever and ever until our dying day. Our world is surrounded by this idea of relationship. We are to find a boyfriend or girlfriend and one day marry them. But as everyone knows, relationships are not easy. To find someone you’re completely compatible with, someone that fits your personality and most importantly someone that you can love through the thick and thin of what life may pass through your way.
But whilst so many people are in relationships and trying to find the right “one”, there are so many of us that are still looking or even just getting out of relationships, known as the “singles”. Some communities look at singles as doomed people, those who will be forever alone. And for some of you, that may be your way of thinking, but I assure you that being single is great. You have time for yourself, to improve and be the best you can be. Because sometimes being in a relationship doesn’t guarantee happiness.
So it’s all in the mind, if you’re single and you’re happy, then that’s all you need to be. There’s a time for any season, and according to me, the season to be single is always the best of all.
“Lord, I know that You are in control of my situation and that my life is in Your hands. I trust that whatever situation I am in, is all due to You and Your doing. Please give me peace and fulfillment so I don’t get distracted by anything else, but by the joy that is provided through You. In Your name I pray, amen.”
