“All hard work brings a profit, but mere talk leads only to poverty.“
A man had two sons and he wanted them to help with the gardening outside, as it was getting messy and not nice to look at anymore. He told the eldest son, “I need you to help me rake the leaves outside.” But the son replied, “No dad. I’ve got work to do!”
So he went to the youngest son and asked him the same question, and the son replied, “Yeah sure, I’ll be down in a minute.” After 10 minutes of waiting, the father continued to wait but the youngest son never showed up. As he was about to rake the leaves all by himself, the oldest son came and picked up the extra rake to help. His father was stunned but they worked along side each other until the job was done.
When it comes to working, its not what you say you’ll do, its what you’ll actually do. I’m sure you’ve heard the phrase “action speaks louder than words”, our actions are the very thing that will bring us profit and reward whereas our words, if not backed up by our actions, will bring us nothing.
“Lord, give me the willingness to be a hard worker, to do everything well and with the most of my capability. Teach me to be diligent and to do the best that I can. May I glorify Your name in everything I do. In Your Name I pray, Amen.”
