“Unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior.”
This lesson is about the first Christmas. When Baby Jesus was born in Bethlehem, God came to earth in human form. The Savior of all mankind became a man. Mary and Joseph knew that Jesus was the Son of God, the Savior. God wanted others to share the joy that Mary and Joseph felt. He sent angels to tell the good news. The angels went, not to kings or leaders, but to ordinary men
God wanted to share the good news. He sent angels to announce that Jesus was born. God sent the angels to shepherds outside of Bethlehem. They were watching their sheep that night. After the shepherds saw Baby Jesus, they were excited. They told many other people the good news that Jesus had been born. The Savior had come to earth! Shepherds just doing their job. God loves all people. That is why He sent Jesus the Savior.
God loved people so much that He sent His one and only Son to earth as a baby. God knew that He would grow up one day and die so our sins could be forgiven. The gift of forgiveness for our sins is the best Christmas gift of all.
Dear Kerygmerz, Are you like the shepherds? Are you glad Jesus the Savior was born? Can you tell others that good news? Let’s pray and ask God to help us share the joy of Christmas, the joy that Jesus the Savior was born!
“Dear Lord, I am glad Jesus the Savior was born. Help me to be like the shepherds to share the joy of Christmas, the joy that Jesus the Savior was born. In the name of Jesus, amen”
